We're different.

Personal Service, Reasonable Fees, Accessibility and Passion. All found at the Law Office of Colin T. Smith.

Why we're different

What you see is what you get. When you come to the Law Office of Colin T. Smith, Colin is who you get. I am able to provide you with the individual attention you deserve and am flexible to meet your needs. You won’t be shuffled off to an associate or paralegal you don’t know after the first meeting.

Money matters. You may hesitate to contact an attorney fearing that you will not be able to control the cost of representation. At the Law Office of Colin T. Smith, I attempt to minimize your costs as much as possible by setting flat fees for certain services, including estate plans. Your estate plan will have one bill and one bill only, and you’ll be free from worrying about whether the “meter is running” during our time together.

Flexibility. Can’t get out of work? Can’t safely drive to the office? Need a weekend appointment? I will take all reasonable steps to accommodate your needs including evening, weekend and/or in-home appointments.

I love what I do. This law practice represents the culmination of my passion for the practice of law. I am a firm believer in the adage “do what you love and you will love what you do.” Simply put: there is nothing that I would rather be doing than assisting your legal needs.

I'm Not Your Traditional Lawyer

During the “traditional” lawyer experience, you’ll go in and meet with a lawyer who will probably make things seem very complicated and confusing. The “traditional” lawyer will sound smart, speaking “legalese,” so you’ll nod and answer questions, pretending that you understand everything. Later, you might remember the lawyer saying something about retitling your bank accounts into the trust, so you’ll call the lawyer’s office, get a voicemail and have to leave a message. A few weeks later, you’ll get a bill in the mail for $67.50 for 12 minutes of your lawyer’s time. You’ll make a mental note: “Don’t call the lawyer ever again.”

I don’t speak “legalese.” I encourage communication. You will not be billed for simple questions. I’m not your traditional lawyer.
